MN Landlord-Declaw Bill, SF 3076, Introduced –
February 10, 2022 –
Minnesota State Senator Scott Dibble has introduced SF 3076, which would prohibit landlords and property managers from requiring declawing of tenants’ cats as a condition of tenancy.
The bill was patterned after the Paw Project-sponsored SB 1229, which was enacted in California in 2012. Rhode Island passed a law similar to California’s in 2014.
UPDATE: The House companion bill, HF 3637, was introduced by Representative Peter Fischer on February 21, 2022.
