California Anti-Declaw Bill Approved by Assembly Committee

California Anti-Declaw Bill, AB 2606, Approved by Committee –

April 26, 2022 –
California Anti-Declaw Bill AB 2606 passed with a 11-1 vote by the California Assembly Business and Professions Committee. The bill would make nontherapeutic declawing illegal and was authored by State Assemblymember Wendy Carrillo. Paw Project Director and Founder Dr. Jennifer Conrad and Los Angeles Councilmember Paul Koretz provided support testimony at the Committee hearing.

The bill must pass both houses of the legislature and be signed by the governor before becoming law.
